@SappyLoveStory asked me a question on twitter the other day and I got to thinking that we really need to take this networking aspect of the Goode job to a higher level.
This is what she asked me:
@AndysGoodeLife Do you have any advice for someone planning on applying to the Murphy-Goode Winery “Wine Country Dream Job”?
Apart from my spontaneous: Get out there and start networking with the other Goode hopefulls… I got to thinking how I can offer something of quality to those who are out there seeking advice.
Here is my responce:
Questions? Requests for next video? Tips for me?
Go on over to @SappyLoveStory and say take greetings from here. Cheer her on and you might be surprised at what you learn in the process!
Great post Andy!
Thanks for the compliment, Hardy!
You have been a
dirtybusy boy yourself over the weekend…So what happens to Murphy Goode once you have finished your really goode job?
Hey Andy
This is great. So much to do so little time! Thanks so much for taking the time to create this very informative video, Andy!
SappyLoveStory!
Hey, Shelby, glad you stopped by and I hope this helps you to push forward…
Don’t sweat the Dirty guy above. The game is still totally open. Sure he has nestled himself in the wine blogger/twitterers scene, but perhaps Murphy Goode is looking to promote their own brand for 60,000 grand instead of being known for the little project of Mr. Dirty?
And perhaps Murphy Goode is looking to branch out and discover new niches (like those who do not yet drink wine
)… so find your take and run with it!
Great idea Andy! Wish I had this when making my vid. Part of the hustle on my end is going to my fav establishments where they know me, for example, I just received an endorsement from Atlanta Wine School and a feature article in their next newsletter as part of the Murphy-Goode job search. I am also going to my favorite restaurants, wine bars and wine stores for their support and it means some exposure for them on the rebound. This is also still considered “Networking”… can’t rely just on the technology and the almighty blog/twitter
Ed, you have done very well with your video without me… and thanks for sharing the takes which did not make the cut! That was a very cool idea *note-to-self: keep-the-no-gos*.
The advice is still key for you, Ed… how are you faring with your networking skills? I am looking into the “backtype” plugin (for my German blog, which is my URL, but here with wp I am kind of limited
): perhaps this is a good plugin for you to generate some more comments on your blog? It would be worth looking into, I think!
Looking forward to what you continue to put out there and thanks for the visit,
Andy — goode life

Nice, Andy! I saw this a while ago but was just coming back to it to see it again… interesting to watch it further down the application process.
Andy, you’re so generous and sweet natured! And I love how you remind her and us all that it’s a longer time frame than just getting the job (or not) but what will you do after? How will you work with what you’ve done along the way?
Art predator,
I am a firm believer that we all walk away from this gig victorious! If you have not learned anything in your own journey, then I really don’t know what you have been up to (not *you*, but “you” in general, I expect *you* know what I mean and anticipate that *you* have already learned heaps which drive you to further successes online and perhaps offline).
I would like to challenge you as well as the others to consider when “after” is? Is it when you don’t make the first cut? When you don’t make the second cut? When is it over?
Hey, are you still following the Great Barrier Reef gig? ‘Cause I bet we could be learning LOADS from that.
NOT only that, we could be part of the successful applicants soar to social media heaven! This is what I hope to see happen for Murphy-Goode: let things FLY HIGH and let me be a part of it all!
And all the while knitting a tighter web of network(s) to push us all forward and on to greater hights.
In my mind, there is no end, really. We can choose to remain connected and go forward.
